Clifford has Retired Shinka to Stud The Derwent Racing Team has had to make a change to its
line up with the shock retirement of Shinka.
The Jason Clifford trained mare, a half sister to True Glo, won
two races in Tasmania after relocating from Victoria however neither
where during her time on the team.
Originally sent to Clifford due to joint problems Jason was able
to manage these at his Seven Mile Beach training facility and race
the mare successfully.
Shinka did not pull up well from from a race at Launceston earlier
this preparation
The subsequent chronic pain in her joints became unmanageable and
Clifford suggested she be sent to stud.
With no shortage of offers for the well bred mare Clifford sent
her on her way to be served by Bon Hoffa.
"I thought we might have one more win in her as we gave her a
long break to get over her last run but she just didn't want to
stretch out as she had in the past", said Clifford.
"Bon Hoffa will be a good match for her and i will certainly
be interested in it when it goes to auction".
Clifford has chosen to bring the young up and coming gelding
Copper Rocks into the team following an impressive first up victory
at Hobart last Sunday.
