Helter Swelter continued her solid form running a close second to
Lavaca in the Remembering Panic Class 2 Handicap at Hobart on Sunday.
The
Gary White trained mare was once again given the job of leading the
field and managed to fight off multiple challenges before being caught
over the last 100m. "It was not the plan to lead today", said White after the race. Helter Swelter after winning at Launceston
"We
expected Champara would cross us and had hoped to take the sit behind
it and see if the mare would relax, but it was not to be. I was quite
impressed with how many challenges she was able to fight off", he went
on to say. Helter Swelter's two wins have both come on soft
ground, however her form on firmer tracks has been improving,
culminating with the weekends second which was on a good track. "She
has improved with every run this preparation, winning almost $15,000 in
four starts, but she is beginning to show signs of wanting a break and
I look forward to bringing her back for the softer winter tracks", said
White who is also a part owner of Helter Swelter.
