QUALITY sprinter-miler Milochello has earned
the right to take on the best milers in the state following another
impressive win on Sunday.
Milochello (Matsqui-Coco Slippers) was having his first start on the
Devonport track but made light of the task as he careered away from his
rivals in an open handicap over 1660 metres.
Despite racing out of his class the Jason Clifford-trained gelding
toyed with his rivals and after the race jockey Brendon McCoull
declared he was good enough to tackle weight-for-age class.
"When Brendon (McCoull) jumped off he said to get him ready for the
weight-for-age Kevin Sharkie Stakes over 1600 metres next month,"
Clifford said.
